Got a dress made when I was back home for New Year's , technically I'am just like an hour and a half away from but I like making it sound like it's a distant land . I have no clue why I don't hang out by the tailors more often here in Pune. I bug all the Pune people I meet to introduce me to some good tailor,later I forget all about it.I'm going home for the long weekend and I've decided to scout for some local tailor talent as soon as I'm back.Since dodging questions like "did you check out the tailor I was telling you about" is getting increasingly difficult .Moreover it's difficult to get people to take me seriously when they do I better live up to expectations.I have been told about Clovers center a hundread times over ,maybe I will start from there.

Shop A Dress

I have just been introduced to this new fashion store online called www.dressshop.in . Meet my newest white with gold and perl sequence gauze dress courtesy  DressShop . It's the softest fabric and feels lovely when worn .The fit is just right .It's perfect for coffee in the evening without the jacket and spice it up a little more for say a lovely dinner later at night. Very versatile could be worn in so many ways . Will soon try and do more looks with this.

Apartmento

 Got a tiny Apartment for myself and the only real pieces of furniture i own is the rocking chair and the mirror.Considering I don't have a TV i'am always where my chair is supposed to face .

Apart from that bought a couple of small stools from a second hand furniture store after sand papering it painted them in electric blue oil paint .Got a big tin coz I didn't know how much I'll need now I'am left with what feels like gallons.So I've been painting anything and everything .

Mango

Meet my newest lovely .The Mango dress I scored  a while ago i have worn this so many times surprisingly I have just one set of pictures.It's one of the softest fabric feels so snugly .

Printed Faces

Will be in Bangalore this whole week and I cannot begin to say how happy I'am to be in a city that is all dry and where rains know when to stop pouring .

Lace-Y

Pune is getting unbearably hot , frying my brains hot. I had a short impromptu trip back to my favorite place Bangalore and in the middle of whats supposed to be summer temperature is around 24 degrees and it's raining Damm!! 

The side effect of all the heat is i'am getting really lazy  , there are a tons of posts to be uploaded here 

but laziness happens to be my new word .

Thanks to all the heat i did learn 10 different ways of tying my hair in a chic bun and i'am quite liking it.

P.S Up next will be some super interesting goodies i picked up from Vero Moda ,psybabas and Allen-Solly on my Bangalore trip.So I'am coming back soonish.

And we are Back

It's been over a month and it seems the blog managed to survive.Now that i'am back to having all the time in the world posts hopefully shouldn't be sporadic anymore .

Jean Dress

I lived all my life in Bangalore ,then no fashion bloggers event happened there , now that i moved to Pune i have one new invite every week to experience something super cool , most of the invites very kindly ask if i want to attend it in Bangalore or in Mumbai .Next time Pune maybe :) However I'am planning to visit Mumbai over the week end to attend a couple of interesting events and meet a whole bunch of people ,really hoping my plan isn't jinxed this time

Cape-Dress

In the past year I've realized that a camera which is remotely fancy looking can make people act like absolute nut cases in front of you since for some reason the person holding it according to most  folks is almost always somebody who can make you famous , splash your face across front pages of magazines and papers . Something similar happened when we went to click some pictures at this Dhobhi Ghat place . Initially they wouldn't let us click pictures coz they were scared we would reveal the top secret ingredient being used here while washing clothes or something like that but within minutes it changed (read a glimpse of my camera) So basically I had them convinced that there 15 mins of fame was starring right at them .The price that had to be paid was i had click pictures of everybody at this place washing clothes/themselves their kids, aunties uncles ,family portraits .After all the madness ended i was finally happy to indulge in some narcissistic behavior.

What I wore- Bangalore Fashion Week

 Fashion Week finally happened for me was quite fun , went there not knowing what to expect.Reached by around 5 in the evening . Anuradha Paul ,  Neeru's , Pam and Arch the last and one of the best shows Neeta Lulla was yet to happen. Got to watch the shows after which did some post show analysis on Radio Indigo.Apart from meeting some incredible people got to chit chat with some super talented new designers in the exhibition area.All of that coming up soon here .

Forting Around

Another pretty day of random fort and street gallivanting.Vintage looking streets,people,architecture all so fancy ,gay,colorful makes you run short of adjectives . I'm too tired to think of anything else .

The Not So Little Black Dress

When there is an impending event i have tons of ideas in my head about what i'm going to wear . Then i go out hunting for something similar but almost always don't find anything.This means no matter how inspired i'am by the end of the day what's there in my wardrobe is what matters.

However this Diwali i didn't want this cycle to continue so decided to make a dress much before the "What to Wear" pangs  . I had this elaborate drapped dress in my mind which i couldn't translate on paper very well and my tailor doesn't do telepathy. So i finally came up with a simpler design .The dress turned out to be exactly as it was on paper.

I was supposed to post it weeks ago when i actually wore this for a Diwali party but during NOV-DEC in Bangalore the habit of procrastination sets in thanks to the weather . Makes you hit the snooze button all day long ,but i'm not complaining .

The Little Black Lace-Y Dress

Most of the clothes i like exist only in the virtual world , if i have to get them into real world it would mean spending a broken Fixed deposit  . When i saw this pretty dress over at Mango(Mango Lace Dress) my heart broke into a million pieces since it was 8000 Rs .  So i decided if i cannot afford it I will make it .My very own Lacy LBD

Bubble Dress

August 21 st was Earth Overshoot  day the significance of this day ? to remind we humans that we have used up this year .Once we pass this day, humanity will have demanded all the ecological services – from filtering CO2 to producing the raw materials for food – that nature can provide this year. From that point until the end of the year, we meet our ecological demand by liquidating resource stocks and accumulating carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Maybe It's time we ask ourselves what little we can do because we won't be saving the plant but saving ourselves .India has absolutley no market when it comes to vintage. This is probably because of the zillion stigma's attached with second hand clothing and the likes . Second hand clothes were synonyms with handing them over to the help we hire .Hence associating the tag poor with it .However thanks to the revival of Vintage Fashion we are fially opening up to the idea .One women's trash is now another women's Vintage .In Britain, secondhand shops and "up-cycling"—taking old clothes and refashioning them with a modern twist—have become hugely popular. This is a perfect example of why I believe fashion has a role to play in helping to confront some of the environmental challenges we face. For this trend is not only about an attraction for retro design and the charm of the old, it is very much about the future. 

So next time i have the "Oh i have nothing to wear "syndrome . I will either tweak an already present outfit and turn it into something new or will try and buy vintage .
