Tulle Tulle

Skirts have always been something I've absolutely loved ,however most of what I like is either made by some brand that has decided not to launch itself in India or in some online store, buying online isn't an option anymore for me since I live alone and collecting postage will be on hell of a co-ordination act. So here's presenting my were own self designed ,hand stitched by a not so trustworthy tailor (he didn't look the part) but i  must say the end result was very very impressive . This will also be available on the  blog as soon as the cob webs in my blog shop has been cleared :-) .

National Day@Singapore

Without even planning for this trip i realized that I'm in Singapore at the right time of the year. Singaporeans are gearing up to celebrate  their National Day, which basically means that the whole place is on sale .Walk into any store and you'll see pretty much everything in the store after discounts  is between 10$ to 50$ . This means I'm like a kid in a candy store for 10 whole days .Will be quite difficult not to blow up my entire years shopping budget in one go.

Pleated Skirt

Posts here are getting quite sporadic ,it's just after what looks like a never ending day which includes my weekends, gets a little difficult to come back and schedule a post also the only way of staying connected is to sit on the terrace having non-consensual vampire sex with giant mosquitoes , doesn't really help my case . Apart from that tons of exciting events coming up here so do come  back.

Draped skirt

There's a whole bunch of study material on my table waiting to be finished and i thought i was done with books sigh!!! such an effort not to let my mind wander off and think about all the interesting things i could be doing here in Pune . On my way back by the end of the day on shared auto's all i want to do is take a few more trips up and down so that i can people watch .In a span of 5 km's  at-least 20 people get on and off on the whole , apart from that I've noticed wrought iron benches on the side walk ,where people randomly sit . i want to do that !!! damm !!! the luxury of time . It would be super fun to sit there with a camera .Like this wasn't enough my friends have been suggesting some awesome-ly interesting cafe's i should visit. The weather doesn't really help either at-least if it was hot i could just sulk and sit inside but it's perfect "feels like going out " weather .Things don't really seem to be adding up like the way i hoped . Keeping my figures crossed for some spare time so i could do them all .

p.S pictures from the era when time was all i had

Pencil Skirt

Pencil skirts go way back to the early 20th century , they were initially called the hobble Skirt which was full length, since they restricted the movement of the wearer modified shorter versions of the hobble skirt was termed pencil skirts. These skirts were first introduced by Christian Dior sometime during early 1940's who's  design was inspired by the letter H.

I was supposed to wear this for another shoot today which Ruhi and I were a part off ,but then decided to wear another dress , More about our fun Photoshoot soon.

Readers Digest

I get very excited when my readers (turned friends) voluntarily send impeccably styled pictures . The trouble they take to put together an outfit and click pictures is much appreciated here.Latha and Bharthi Naidu are sisters based here in Bangalore . Of late i have been obsessed with yellow after my fascination for the color white kinda phased out. Hence i decided to post this look first in a two part series of the skirt dress.Loved how they styled this ,it has ethnic India written all over .From the wooden bangle to the scrunchy and the chain.

P.S This is Bharthi and Latha is behind the camera.

Skirt Obsessions

Long skirts , shorts ones, weird ones i am obsessed with them . My styling is incomplete without skirts . Recently in one of my favorite Vintage shops i found an amazing long black skirt .This is about 10 years old.It had pockets which was so interesting. Since i buy anything with pockets (trust me absolutely anything ) this i did not even try to resit .

Its so versatile as i can play" dress me up "  with this all day long ,can be worn to work , for coffee in the evening ,With some thing bright can be worn for dinner as well . I am loving it.

Ripping in Style

A couple of  months ago was wandering around Vintage shops on E-Bay. Came across a really good shop which had a lot of skirts, not the regular kinds . I bought a balloon skirt and an origami skirt. The skirts are about 20 years old.Since all good things come with a price tag , these  had a hefty one as well .I paid about 150 AuD for both. I never pay that much for clothes ,normally if like something thats very expensive i get a similar kind made .But this was irresistible.

I am planning on replicating these skirts at affordable prices(Thrift thesis i say !) and different  colors .Interested ?In the comments leave your mail Id and the skirt your interested in . I will get back to you with details.

A)Origami Skirt

B) Balloon Skirt
