Cleaning Up My Closet

We actually live in one of the hottest regions on planet earth , However hats have always been the most disregard piece of accessory . More than a style statement it's actually a necessity. Anybody sporting anything other than a regular cap is always starred at like an amusing thing on the road . I see thousands of girls on the streets of Pune covering everything above the neck level completely with a scarf or a stole funnily only there eyes is visible squishing there noises and shutting up there mouths ,i'm often wondering why they go through so much torture all one has to do is buy themselves a nice pretty big hat .

I for one have decided there has to be more hats in my cupboard but then I realized for that there needs to be some storing place .  Eventually I'm moving back to Bangalore (Hoping this would happen ASAP) I  refrain myself from buying furniture of any kinds . In an attempt at making some space I'm having a sale of some of  my favorite pieces of clothing over at the FaceBook Page Vintage Obsession. There's going to be new additions every week till my closet has some breathing space and my suitcases can move back to the attic .

My first outdoor shoot in Pune . I don't know why I haven't done this already . These were clicked by Bruno on the Osho ashram road until we were told otherwise . I did have a lot of fun doing this and he really helped me shed some inhibitions .

Quirky

Have you met Ms Quirky ! my first purchase in Pune .I read about this brand called Quirk Box and how it was the brain child of Jayesh Sachdeva a designer originally hailing from Pune . Wrote to them asking where I can score these and went hunting . They are incredible and go with half my wardrobe .You'll be seeing a lot of this jacket for a while.

P.S Leaving to Bangalore tomorrow and I'am super excited since I have a nice road trip for 5 days planned with  brother dearest .

Tulle Tulle

Skirts have always been something I've absolutely loved ,however most of what I like is either made by some brand that has decided not to launch itself in India or in some online store, buying online isn't an option anymore for me since I live alone and collecting postage will be on hell of a co-ordination act. So here's presenting my were own self designed ,hand stitched by a not so trustworthy tailor (he didn't look the part) but i  must say the end result was very very impressive . This will also be available on the  blog as soon as the cob webs in my blog shop has been cleared :-) . 

On-The-Air

Interesting news flash- All you Bangalore readers can now listen to me on Radio Indigo every Wednesday evening ,will be fashion-talking .It kicked of today ,me being me forgot to announce this in advance . This time there's going to be something for the male readers as well ,will be talking about trends and what's hot for all you guys .

Color Cordinated

The red pair of trousers was making too much of an appearance here so i decided it was time for the world to say hello to my new white jeans ,well new only only in terms of the blog .
Had a nice lazy day at home in Bangalore ,going through some home decor ideas which my place back in Pune is urgently in need of . I hate the fact that the place is so empty right now that it echos kind of fun initially but it's getting a little creepy now .I found tons of interesting things that can be done to spice up the house without having to empty my traveling funds,I'm thinking of posting a few here as well .All the things that can be done and pictures of whatever little I'm going to be doing.

P.S I'm wearing lace shoes , is wondering if I'm ever going to get over my lace love.

VO on the Roof

I'am back and must say a little sad  coz I was really hoping the vacation wouldn't have a conclusion.

However I do have a lot of pictures to share , In other exciting news I'am going to in Bangalore this long weekend cannot wait to see my dogs and all my favorite people.

These pictures are basically What-I-Wore the 3rd day when I took the city tour bus and went round and round for 5 hours , just didn't feel like getting off .

ClarkeQuay

One of my favorite places in Singapore without a debate has to be Clarke Quay /Boat Quay .Full of life and a place to be if your a food lover like me .Name any cuisine and it's on the stretch with an awesome view of the river on one side to the financial hub buildings on the other and to it add some gigantic vintage hotels . Have been here every single night exploring dinner options .Now that I've to get ready in terms of packing since my 10 day vacation is coming to an end tomorrow ,I'am already missing the place and all the hullabaloo.

National Day@Singapore

Without even planning for this trip i realized that I'm in Singapore at the right time of the year. Singaporeans are gearing up to celebrate  their National Day, which basically means that the whole place is on sale .Walk into any store and you'll see pretty much everything in the store after discounts  is between 10$ to 50$ . This means I'm like a kid in a candy store for 10 whole days .Will be quite difficult not to blow up my entire years shopping budget in one go.

One of my favorite jackets from Mango , Quite sadly it's been trapped somewhere at the back of my closet in Bangalore  ,Can it get a little colder already my jackets would love to breathe once in a while . 

A whole bunch of readers have been mailing for quite sometime now asking me to do some how to wear basic elements in your closet kinda posts ,been putting it for a while now , so here is what i'am gona do starting from next post on ,will do a series on re-usability as in how a basic pieces  can be worn in different ways .  So people stop threatening  me  :-)

Belt Bag

I was just reading an article some where which says that belt bags are all the rage this season it's gona be big  blah blah and some more .I can never catch up with these trends and honestly don't pay too much attention either Anyways the point of this is I found this belt bag almost six months ago while i was in Udaipur picked it from a small shop in Rajasthan let alone Internet ,TV happens to be a rare phenomenon here .Cannot help but wonder how these super talented people come up with the stuff they do and weirdly after like ages some super rich Uncle in the west tells us "oh these are such a must have" really fascinating .When i asked the guy who was making these bags ,where he gets his ideas from he says most of designs are need based .Since public transportation are so full of people it's difficult  to be worried about holding your bag so he decided this would be so much easier for the ladies .Impressive.

AllenSolly

A while ago Allen Solly gave me this fun assignment to do -Check their store out. I have always been a big fan of their formal wear most of the Allen Solly shirts has a very tailored feeling when worn,  I actually went to the store thinking i will probably pick either Blazers (Huge fan) or trousers or one of those smart formal shorts .However I decided to pick up a bag since it was the perfect green bag in terms of the color and size ,can carry it everyday for work since it fits almost everything i want to take  . I also picked up a pair of leggings since they weren't cotton ,most cotton leggings have a problem with the quality after say 2 washes and thank heavens it wasn't Lycra either .Perfect for summers fabric . I've washed it 3 times already and it's still so soft with a tinge of Glitter .Must say the trip to the store turned to be pretty fun .

P.S for those of you planning on visiting the store soon make sure you try on the pair of shorts which happens to be made in the softest of softest denim fabric and has the prettiest pockets with the perfect length .Available somewhere in the casual section. Don't be surprised if you find yourself holding a whole bunch of things wondering what to pick up.

It was a tough call between the shorts and the bag for me .

Frills&Scarfs

On one of my I'am trying to discover Pune trips ,came across a really pretty flow-y lace jacket if it didn't cost more than my monthly grocery bill i would bought it in an instant . This made me wanna run back to Bangalore to my tailor .With a little bullying he would have made it for me in 2 days . Sigh !! so much for the love of making things , i don't know a) fabric market  b)a decent Tailor here in Pune. 

In some other news i finally found a place which makes the yummiest filter coffee ,apart from the annoying waiter who keeps asking me hows everything in Madras(These things are clichéd for a reason) i quite like going to that place coz it's neighbour  happens to be  a small super interesting book store as an icing they also have imported magazines  all second hand  how romantic .Apart from the heat i must say Pune is quite a cozy little place to be .

And we are Back

It's been over a month and it seems the blog managed to survive.Now that i'am back to having all the time in the world posts hopefully shouldn't be sporadic anymore .

Neon

Off late the highlight off my evenings are  finding the  perfect cafe which serves the most delicious mouth watering hot -Chocolate-Walnut pie and yummy coffee in cute little mugs .Makes me wanna turn this into a food blog.Once this is done taking a long random walk to find a small little store which has all kinds of neon nail paints .Then finding a book-lending store  and the lady who owns it turns out to be this  absolutely charming and oh so swell  , has some brilliant stories to share about some super interesting travel chronicles person ,these encounters gives me hope  "you can break my  dreams but not my spirit  "so much for my  perfect ending .
