Meet The Stylist- Nidhi Jacob

Presenting to you the Oh -So -Fabulous stylist and fashion writer Nidhi Jacob. Most of you who haunt style Pile would definitely be familiar with her .When i  first saw Hidden Button(her style pile name)  why was she hiding all this while was what i thought  because every time i see her style i'm busy making notes . Professional help for free .
If i were to make Nidhi sit in my Garden she would camouflage so effortlessly .I sure would see a couple of butterfly's and pretty pretty sparrows hoping around here. I have never known how to mix prints so well .Ah Someday :)

After looking at these 2 pictures i sure don't seem to see why i should go hunting for locations anymore maybe   it's an eye i need to develop .

When asked to describe her style this is she had to say "I love grandmothers in general, the way they smell, their stories, the way they dress, pretty much everything. My style is hugely inspired by them. I also like playing with androgynous dressing. I borrow a lot from my best friend who is a boy. Once in a while I have this urge to wear shiny, tacky things so i keep a stash of sequinned dresses and gold jewellery for those days. My wardrobe would be incomplete without leopard prints, daddy trousers, cheap jewellery and faded florals. Currently I'm going through a Rosemary's Baby phase which explains my hair."

Oh By the way Organic Farming is one of her interests ,for the annual vacation she spends about 1- 2 months in an organic farm . How cool is she ?

Designer inspiration : Tanvi Kedia

When i stumbled upon designer Tanvi Kedia's collection "South Of The Border West Of The Sun".I was beyond impressed .The collection  has a heavy ethnic influence in terms of colors, designs and cuts. The riot of colors and prints is what got me excited to begin with. However more than the clothes i was completely mesmerized by her shoe collection which is basically hand embroidered sneakers ,with bright colors like green ,orange ,pink  and so on .

Sadly the work of most of the Indian designers are not easily available online ,I couldn't find a decent picture of the shoes. Its really sad that none of the official fashion week pages have them either.

Color oh! So colorful shoes

Dhothi Trousers

Going through an extremely black and paranoid phase right now. It will take me a while to post personal pictures

Meanwhile lets meet Latha Naidu you have already met her sister HERE and HERE. She was extremely sweet enough to take time of while having some fun with friends , click pictures and send it over .
As usual she was impeccably styled and looked as gorgeous.

These trousers are available at 4th block Jayanagar complex .I don't know which shop exactly . It costs about 300-350 Rs ,depends on how good you are at bargaining .

When Latha sent me these pictures about 2 weeks ago and told me where to find them. The first thing i did was marched down to Jayanagar and bought them .

Readers Digest

I get very excited when my readers (turned friends) voluntarily send impeccably styled pictures . The trouble they take to put together an outfit and click pictures is much appreciated here.Latha and Bharthi Naidu are sisters based here in Bangalore . Of late i have been obsessed with yellow after my fascination for the color white kinda phased out. Hence i decided to post this look first in a two part series of the skirt dress.Loved how they styled this ,it has ethnic India written all over .From the wooden bangle to the scrunchy and the chain.

P.S This is Bharthi and Latha is behind the camera.

Lahlah is Here

Chanced upon Esther Fanai A while ago ever since i'm a follower of her unique style. One of my favorite observations about her is the knots, knots eh? yeah she knots long flow-y dresses ,skirts towards the end ,its such a simple and chic way of transforming clothes to incorporate different looks in  one dress/skirt.

My recent trip to Delhi was not very fruitful in terms of shopping,so i had to ask her where she shops in Delhi where she is currently studying. To my utmost surprise she says every single outfit in the following pictures are second hand(Barely 200 bucks =4$)Jaws dropped . Now where oh where do you find such classy second hand clothes ,i don't mind taking a trip right away .

Her inspiration to start a blog she says "After lurking here and there in people's blog for a long time... I just thought why not? I love taking pictures and it was the most natural thing to do. Its a collective contribution...and to be apart of the contribution means a lot."
Her layering skills are absolutely commendable. She uses arrays of colors in her outfits and loafers are her forte.

I'm waiting for it it to get cold here in Bangalore to be able
to wear socks n all that.

Jean tote!! where do i buy it?

Her blog has more of her here

Deccan Herald's Boutique to blog

I had no idea that last week Deccan hearld featured Vintage Obsession(However the paper  added an extra "s") . Thanks to  a cousin and some very dear readers ,E-Mails i spotted this in the paper .

IndiGreen: Go Bollywood

Bollywood+Fashion+Eco-friendly now isn't that a good concoction. IndiGreen is a relatively new brand launched in India and is owned by Nidhi Singh and her partner Gaurav Gupta. This is one of the funkiest projects i have come across in a long time .

What is it they do?

Indigreen is Hand-painted Art work on  tee's, dresses, bags jackets and belts. The Brand uses Bollywood as there source of inspiration I.E movie posters. They also have embellished works which is made by the women of SEWA(an NGO). They use Organic cotton so the brand is in tune with the go green mantra.Right now they have limited editions only but Nidhi claims that they never disappoint fans when they come with requests . Take a look at some samples...

There is something about yesteryears posters which immediately gets you hooked. This is a brown tunic with a fun embellished belt .

Now wouldn't this be so chic for an evening coffee or laid back session of chit-chatting with  friends after an evening movie maybe

I would totally wear this for an evening Karaoke.

Wouldn't this be apt for a laid back house party.

Extreme left is Nidhi Singh

This was the launch of IndiGreen in Melange (Bombay), where some of Nidhi's friends had a fun session of trails with the indie green clothes .The collection in Bangalore is available at Kimaya UB City.

If its too hot outside to go shop or your simply lazy ? Indie green has a solution they have an online store as well for more do check there website where you can place orders as well  IndiGreen

Fashion Featured: Meet the Diva

This is the first post in a new series titled "Fashion Featured", aimed at showcasing trend setters in fashion.

Meet the Diva

Introducing one of my favorite blogger friends The Dusk Devi

My first reaction when i chanced upon her blog was i needed some exercise right away!  This charming and confident lady would sure find herself giving Tyra and her entourage of models a lesson or two in poise.

Her energy and love for life is contagious in nature. Although she stays far away down under (Austrailia), her love for the Indian culture is evident in her blog. She practices yoga , some kinda of rope dance (which i am sure only 10 people in the world can do), is a professional Flamenco dancer and to top it all she makes cosmetics! She even used to be a model and her pictures from those days are a treat indeed.  Ah I remember reading some where in her blog that she was a journalist as well. I am sure there is a lot more i don't know about .

Is there anything this Diva cannot do ?   ^_^ .
