Bought this skirt about 4 years ago .This has a very Goan gypsy feeling which means unless i take a trip to Goa i wont be able to wear it. So decided to give the skirt a little makeover! A little nip here and a little tuck there transformed the skirt to a tube dress which is so great for summers :))
Skirt/Dress - Akriti
Hakoba jacket:Thrifted
Flats:Chitra Kala Parishath
Anklets:Vintage Silver
Belt:Vintage
kool !
ReplyDeleteI wonder how did you manage to keep it intact at breast :P
Even I tried the same thing wit one of my skirt .. with a stretchable belt but it seemed to fall down weneva I moved , Good that I tried it at home :D
So I gave up the idea of wearing a skirt as dress altogether
you just have to get the measurements rights , i was running around with the dress all day and it was pretty comfortable
ReplyDeleteP.S i removed the elastic provided at the waist .That kind of did the trick:)
I have this pretty blue bandhini ghagroo, which I don't wear either, and I was thinking of doing the exact same thing!
ReplyDeleteYou should live here man, I'd totally bribe you to do it for me.
I can't stitch to save my ass.
P.S. Love the look. Hsve the irresistible urge to steal your belt and run :D
Love your DIY tricks, ah the clothes I buy from Goa sit in my closet listlessly waiting to head back to Goa! I have a few skirts too long to be worn without always lifting it off the floor, might try and something like this ala you :) LOve your pendant as well :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!! It doesn't look like a skirt anymore at all! I loveeee it! :)
ReplyDelete@hippie : this was one of those long skirts as well ! reduced the length a bit now it comes upto my ankles!now this adds a couple of more dresses to my wadrobe:)
ReplyDelete@fab thank you :)
